About KW Brickwork
KW Brickwork Contractors Ltd is a bricklaying contractor based in Welshpool, Powys, run by NVQ Level 3 qualified bricklayer Kris Williams. We build new-build housing, commercial and public-sector brickwork and blockwork for housebuilders, developers and main contractors across Mid Wales, Shropshire and the West Midlands.
Kris and the company
KW Brickwork Contractors Ltd is a limited company registered in England and Wales and based in Welshpool, Powys. It's run by Kris Williams, a bricklayer who prices the work and works on site himself.
In June 2026 Kris was awarded the NOCN Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction). It's an Ofqual-regulated qualification assessed on real work in the workplace, not in a college workshop. Its units cover setting out and erecting brick and block structures, masonry cladding, repairing and maintaining masonry to match existing work, and architectural and decorative features such as arches and curved walls. What we build
Our main work is new-build housing. We build brickwork and blockwork for housebuilders and developers: bungalows with garages, two-storey detached and semi-detached homes, and three-storey townhouses with dormers, in facing brick with blockwork inner leaves, buff stone banding and chimneys. Our project photos show this work from DPC to completion.
We have also worked on new school buildings, Ministry of Defence projects and hospital buildings, mainly facing brick built off scaffold as a cladding skin against wall panels, and blockwork. Alongside that, we take on industrial blockwork, retaining walls built to an engineer's design, and general brickwork such as extensions, garages and repairs.
Where we work
We're based in Welshpool, a few miles from the English border, and work on both sides of it: across Powys and Mid Wales, where the Building Regulations for Wales apply, and across Shropshire and the West Midlands, where the English Approved Documents apply. Closer to home we take jobs of all sizes. Further afield, in Wolverhampton, Walsall and the wider West Midlands, we focus on larger developments and contract packages.
Our approach
We work to the drawings, the specification and your programme. We tell you honestly what we can take on and when, raise problems early, and keep our part of the site tidy. The person you speak to about the price is the person responsible for the work.

Tidy sites
Scaffold lifts kept clear, materials stacked where the site manager wants them, and brick cuts and packaging cleared as we go, so the next trade can start without a clean-up.

Programme reliability
We agree the sequence before we start, keep to it, and tell you early if anything could hold the programme up, rather than on the day it does.

Quality of finish
Bricks blended from several packs, gauge and joints kept consistent, openings set out from the drawings, and stone bands and plinths lined through. Facing brickwork is on show for the life of the building.

Safe working
We follow site inductions, method statements and rules, work within scaffold loading limits, and don't cut corners that put people at risk.
